|Victoria Hall in Bebington was built in 1897 to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria.
The main cost of the building was raised by donations given by the public. When the hall was opened
for the pubic it was decorated with flags and bunting and there was a large party with a brass band.
The public were invited to the celebration and were provided with large wooden benches food and
beverages. There is a picture floating around of this party however as yet i have not managed to get my
hands on it. The inscription on the side of the hall reads .. “ Te Deum Laudamus," .......
"We praise thee O God”.
The hall still stands today albeit in a sea of urban jungle.
