The Old Manor House

Tucked away just behind the back of the car park for the Basset Hound is the original Manor House for
Barnston Village.  The small white washed picturesque building could be easily missed as it is nestled
away in a small court yard hidden by the old barn and several bushes.

The Manor house looks to date from the early 1800s and is a similar layout to that of Old Hall Farm in
Moreton which is Wirral oldest surviving farm, thus giving some credit to the possible age of the

In front of the house stands a large sandstone barn which now, just like the Manor house; has been
renovated and is being used for private domestic use.  The building can still be viewed by entering the
car park of the Basset Hound and venturing down the steps at the back and following the small
footpath.  Please note that the property is private and trespassing will not be tolerated.
