The Donkey Stand

The Donkey Stand is the first section of seawall to be built at Parkgate.  The wall was built over a small dwelling which
served as the first assembly rooms for Parkgate.  It was known as the only building in the village that stood on an angle.
The site was later changed into Seawater baths for invalids, later to be demolished and built over by the existing sea
wall in 1810.
