The Art Deco style building we see in the photo above has become famous in Parkgate and contains what is today
known as Nicholl's and the Post office. The Art Deco building was built on the grounds of Dee House which dated back
to the early 18th century. After falling into dilapidation the house was demolished and the present edifice was
constructed in its place. Nicholl's famous ice creams is named after William Kingsley Nicholls, a dairyman from Neston
whose ice creams adorn the promenade of Parkgate every summer.
